Parliament Square, near Edinburghs Royal Mile, housed the pre-union Scottish Parliament and the Court of Session. After the 1707 Act of Union, parliamentary business shifted to Westminster. The square also features an equestrian statue of Charles II and the Queensberry Memorial to the 5th Duke of Buccleuch
