The small Roman horse harness fitting, on which this sculpture was based, was found during excavations of The Antonine Wall fortlet at Kinneil. It is made of bronze and was attached to a leather strap by two loops on the back. It can be viewed in the Kinneil House Museum at Bo’ness. The sculpture is fabricated from brass sheet, both spun, cut & welded. It sits atop a 10’ high column of local sandstone, although the original Antonine Wall was constructed from turf. The Sculpture was created by artist, Phil Neal.
