Saltoun Place Fountain

Saltoun Place Fountain

The fountain was moved to the junction of Strichen Road and Links Road in 1923. Symbolism was popular in Victorian times. Griffins are symbolic of guardians of priceless possessions; cranes were recognised as a symbol of vigilance; and lions are acknowledged as guardians.
