National Monument of Scotland

Perched atop Calton Hill in Edinburgh, the National Monument of Scotland stands as a prominent landmark. This neoclassical structure, inspired by the Parthenon in Athens, was intended to commemorate Scottish soldiers who lost their lives in the Napoleonic Wars. Although never completed, the monument’s unfinished state adds a sense of intrigue and melancholy to its grandeur.
