McCaig's Tower

McCaig’s Tower is a prominent landmark in the town of Oban, Scotland. Built in 1897, it was the brainchild of local businessman John Stewart McCaig, who wanted to create a lasting tribute to his family. The tower was constructed out of stone and concrete, and stands at a height of 68ft. It is an impressive sight, with its two turrets, winding staircases and ornately carved lions perched on either side of the entrance. The tower is said to be a representation of McCaig’s love for his homeland and its people, and was intended to be a lasting reminder of his legacy. Inside, the interior is decorated with a variety of ornamental features, including carvings of Scottish clans and coats of arms.
