Knockan Crag National Nature Reserve

Knockan Crag National Nature Reserve

Knockan Crag National Nature Reserve lies within the North West Highlands Geopark, near Ullapool. Knockan Crag tells the story of colliding continents. The low cliff of Knockan exposes rocks that are significant scientific findings: the rocks here are over 500 million years old. The visitor centre and walking trails tell the story of the findings and the scientific debates and also focus on preserving the significant area.
