Markinch Kirk is one of Fife’s oldest buildings. The tower and gable ends date from the 12th century. Remnants of original Norman carving (stars, saltires and diamonds) can be seen despite damage inflicted during the Reformation. The Kirk forms part of the Pilgrim Way, a new long distance walking route
