VisitScotland CEO welcomes new BBC Scotland series

BBC Scotland has today announced a new 8-part series which seeks to find Scotland’s Greatest Escape.

The public can nominate an accommodation experience they think is worthy of the crown, while tourism businesses can also apply.

Malcolm Roughead, Chief Executive of VisitScotland, said:

“Scotland’s Greatest Escape is a fantastic opportunity for the public to show their support for Scottish tourism by nominating their favourite place to stay.

“The new BBC Scotland series will also be a welcome platform to show-off the sector to a national audience, as businesses still recover from the effects of the pandemic. The benefits of tourism spread far beyond the industry itself – it supports our economy, our community, and our wellbeing

“Scotland is full of wonderful tourism experiences to suit all budgets. We look forward to seeing which escapes prove popular.”
