The national tourism body recently launched its Now is Your Time domestic marketing campaign aimed at inspiring people across the UK to take a much-needed break with a day out, a city break or a longer holiday to enjoy all the country has to offer.

Paula Ward, VisitScotland Regional Leadership Director, said:“These images have really captured the beauty of Edinburgh and the Lothians and it is fantastic, encouraging our followers from around the world to engage on our website and social media channels. As we continue to recover from the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important that we continue to inspire our global audiences for when it is safe to travel.“Tourism is a force for good – creating economic and social value in every corner of Scotland and enhancing the wellbeing of everyone who experiences it. Tourism makes Scotland richer, economically and socially, and without it Scotland would be a much poorer place.”City of Edinburgh Council Leader Adam McVey said:“Our Forever Edinburgh campaign is encouraging residents and visitors to create memories of a lifetime discovering and re-discover all our fantastic city has to offer – from  our rich history, heritage and culture to our beautiful vistas, parks, beaches and green spaces, not to mention our fantastic shops, cafes and restaurants.”Robin Chesters, Vice Chair of Visit West Lothian, said:“Locations such as Midhope Castle, otherwise known as Lallybroch in the Outlander series, have risen to fame over recent years through the region’s growing film and TV links and highlight how the array of sights within the Lothians make it the ideal destination for the whole family to visit as restrictions continue to ease.“The tourism industry right across the area looks forward to welcoming visitors back to discover the beauty of the Lothians as it becomes safe to do so.”
