Popular action camera brand GoPro chose Scotland as one of the first destinations to showcase their latest piece of hardware.

The Isle of Arran played a starring role as the new GoPro HERO11 Black camera was unveiled to adventure-seekers around the world.

Action cameras can be fitted to helmets and body mounts, adventure gear and handheld accessories to capture all types of travel experiences, from hiking and biking to exploring a city centre or village.

VisitScotland worked with industry partners, CalMac, Ride Arran, Otter’s Tail, and GoPro advocates ‘the_adventureaddicts’ to showcase Scotland, targeting younger visitors from the west coast of America to inspire their action-packed break.

Among the activities and sites on Arran being captured by advocates Zoe & Kelby, using the new GoPro 11 were Machrie Moor standing stones, Glen Rosa and nearby Goatfell mountain, where they captured some stunning shots from the summit. Silver Sands Beach was also included with the content creators hiking and biking their way around the many highlights on show, before relaxing at Balmichael Glamping.

The footage was then uploaded on to ‘the_adventureaddicts’ social media including Instagram & TikTok channels, followed by 150,000 people as well posts on GoPro UK’s channels with 136,000 followers. The content from the trip will also be used across VisitScotland’s owned channels in the coming months to showcase adventure in Scotland.

Gordon Smith, VisitScotland Regional Director said:“This is one of several campaigns we are currently running to support the sustainable and meaningful recovery of our tourism and events industry, positioning Scotland as a responsible year-round destination that stands out to consumers.”Kelly Baker, GoPro Sr. Director of Media Relations and Influencer MarketingZoe and Kelby, The Adventure Addicts saidScotland road trip, and the landscapes blew us away every single day.
