Drawing Business Events to Scotland

A team of Scottish cartoonists will tomorrow (Wednesday, 27 June) help VisitScotland ‘draw’ key buyers within the business events sector to Scotland, to show Scotland is Now for meetings, incentives, conference and exhibitions.

Glasgow-based Scottish Cartoon Art Studio will transport attendees at the UK’s largest MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Exhibitions) tradeshow to Scotland in caricature form, as they join ten tourism companies on the VisitScotland stand.

VisitScotland’s Business Events team is leading the delegation to The Meetings Show at Olympia London, which runs from 27 to 28 June.

The national tourism organisation will be joined by businesses from Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Fife, Glasgow and Perthshire.

The Scotland delegation will be among more than 700 of the finest destinations, hotels, venues, destination management companies and technology providers from around the world seeking to engage with premium MICE buyers.

Almost 2,500 key buyers are expected to take advantage of the meetings, networking opportunities and education programme over the two days.

During the event, VisitScotland will give presentations on the exciting new developments happening in Scotland following the launch of the new global campaign Scotland is Now.

Mihri Miralem, Market Manager for London & South England at VisitScotland Business Events, said: “Business events are hugely important to the Scottish economy and are an integral way of promoting this country as a place to live, work, visit and invest, as seen in the Scotland is Now campaign.

“The Meetings Show is the perfect opportunity for VisitScotland and its partners to meet face-to-face with influential event organisers from across the UK and further afield to demonstrate exactly why Scotland is the perfect destination to hold meetings, conferences, events and exhibitions.”

VisitScotland’s partners at The Meetings Show 2018 are:

  • Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre
  • Assembly Rooms Edinburgh
  • Edinburgh First, The University of Edinburgh
  • Edinburgh International Conference Centre
  • Fairmont St Andrews
  • Glasgow Convention Bureau
